What a fantastic Jubilee Day!

Thank you all who visited SSHL to celebrate with us!

Please see photo album below.

Last weekend we had invited our students with their families and our alumni to celebrate our school’s 100th anniversary together with us. It was indeed a fantastic Jubilee Day with guests from near and far, beautiful weather and a campus buzzing with activity.

Our students enjoy visits from family and alumni. They are always so proud when they get the chance to show their school to guests.

Our students take pride in showing their school – and we are so proud of our students.

The school’s kitchen served delicious food from different corners of the world. There was a quiz round for both adults and children, and fun activities in the new Leisure Centre. The maths geniuses could challenge the SSHL Maths Club and literature enthusiasts were invited to activities in the library. Many guests also chose to have a cup of coffee at Café Humlan with its spectacular view of Lake Mälaren.

Skolans kök dukade fram härlig mat från världens olika hörn, i samarbete med elevföreningarna FoodClub och ModelUN.

Our wonderful alumni and in addition guides from the Sigtuna Museum, Ansi and Sara, led historic walks around our campus.

At Instan, our guests could shop at the school’s own shop, Utis, which also naturally became a hub for alumni to meet and chat. Our student associations and ‘UF*/JA companies’ had set up a market place, and on ‘Trägolvet’, on the second floor, our guests were able to enjoy all the amazing artworks created by the students for the IB Visual Art Exhibition, 2025. Our boarding houses were visited by returning alumni who could browse old photo albums over a cup of coffee.

In the Sports Hall ‘Dragon’s Den’ for the school’s ‘UF’/JA companies had been arranged. There, the audience could see and hear our talented students pitch their business ideas to a panel of experts: Carl Bennet, Aurore Belfrage, Jeanette van Reis, Anna Leijon and Jonas Eriksson.

Three of this year’s JA companies with ten students pitched their business ideas to the panel of experts: Carl Bennet, Aurore Belfrage, Jeanette van Reis, Anna Leijon and Jonas Eriksson.

We were also very happy and proud to present a Jubilee Day show with song and music performances by current students and alumni. Some members of the former school choir Pro Vobis, who among many other accomplishments, sang at the New Year’s celebrations at Skansen, were reunited on stage under the direction of our former music teacher Anders Rosén.

Sebastian Stevensson ( graduate 2006), bassoonist in the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra, delivered a solo piece. Sofia Fellin, (graduate 2009) sang, accompanied on the piano by Fredrik Hermansson. Vilhelm Buchhaus (graduate 2020), known from The Swedish Melody Festival, sent a video greeting from Los Angeles. And our fantastic students from SSHL Music Association also contributed with several different songs and pieces.

Många elever medverkade på scen i jubileumsprogrammet - gamla som unga.

Many students also performed on stage in the Jubilee Day show – young and old.

The Sigtuna Alumni Association, headed by their chair Caroline Lindahl, inaugurated the artwork that has been donated to the school, intended to decorate a future assembly hall. The artist himself, Fredrik Wretman, presented his piece of work, ‘Up,up and away’. It is in bronze and currently placed on the campus.

The Jubilee Day’s guests of honor, His Majesty the King and  Her Majesty The Queen, brightened this very special day with their presence at the Jubilee concert. They also visited the school history museum and the King’s old boarding house, Herrgården. We would especially like to extend our sincere thanks to His Majesty the King for his emotional and very nice speech.

Many thanks to all our guests who helped us celebrate our 100 years! We are indeed grateful for your support – all parents and alumni, together with our students and staff.
