Ready for a career in hospitality management

Our first group of students on the IB Career-related Programme are graduating this spring. We are so proud of them as they are truly pioneers, now launched into professional space, full of knowledge and skills, dreams and plans.

We are confident that they will continue to prosper and make a great difference on their way!

Yet the journey has only just begun. Our dedicated team of teachers, educators and partners continue to work hard to inspire and challenge our current and future students on the IB Career-related Programme.

IB Career-related Programme students on a journey

Our first group of students on the IB Career-related Programme are graduating this spring.

The journey for a brand new innovative and modern educational programme began in the little picturesque town of Montreux in Switzerland.

Montreux is one of the centres for higher education in hospitality. SSHL’s first meeting with Swiss Education Group in Montreux in March 2019 was a ‘ wow’, showing how the combination of hospitality, education, and internationality can work.

This was what we wanted at our school – an innovative, modern and relevant education for an exciting career in hospitality. We wanted to design a programme for SSHL which opens up the doors for both employment and further studies. The IB Career-related Programme, the newest of the four IB programmes, allows for this relevant educational approach.

We have established a partnership with Swiss Education Group, and incorporated a Career-related study course that is provided by Pearson BTEC who specializes in online courses developed in collaboration with industry experts.

As one of the first schools in Sweden, we offer the IB Career-related Programme in Business and Hospitality Management. This is not only a classroom experience. We offer a journey of education; industry-related learning combined with rigorous academic studies while gaining lifelong skills and experience.

This is a programme which brings the world of work into the classroom and the classroom takes a step into the workplace. It is a programme where expert industry partners serve as a direct link to student learning with workshops, mentorship, master classes, work placements and internships, as well as a study trip to Montreux.

Along our journey we have developed a solid partnership with Swiss Education Group and César Ritz Colleges, we have expanded our partnerships with Glion and Les Roches. We also have fantastic opportunities in our local community with Sigtuna Stadshotell, Sigtunastiftelsen, Sigtunahöjden, Hotell Kristina, Kämpasten, Stora Brännbo, Steningevik, Quality Hotel Arlanda XPO, Radisson Blu Arlandia and Radisson Blu Airport Terminal Hotel.
